Day 14
Today's session started with classmates giving a show and tell about technology they have used in their classroom. I use a site called neok12.com because it has quizzes, puzzles, videos and interactive games for each subject you teach. Mrs. Sawyer gave a helpful hint on saving youtube videos in case the internet goes out known as keepvid which is very useful. Mr. Silence gave an interesting site on coding which can be useful also showing a video on coding. It was surprising how many people are using coding today. Dr. Lee gave a lot of information today on the different websites adding to yesterday's canvas. Wiki leaks was very useful and it is something I will use in the classroom sort of what Dr. Lee did with show and tell sign up. Also new today was Storify. It was good implementing websites into actual debates you can have with your class. Also popplet and padlet are good to use in the classroom. Overall, this week was a lot of information to grasp. Its going to take some time to think about what websites I can use for the upcoming year.

Day 13
Today's question is what did I learn new today? Canvas was totally new to me, but with Dr. Lee's help it went smoothly. This is something I may try to implement in the classroom. By using canvas, I can put my syllabus, homework and assignment in tabs easily for students to understand and follow. Scoop It was new. Basically it was a type of bookmark but much easier with all the websites on one page just a click away. Our speaker Mr. Segalini talked about common core which made it easier to understand. By using photo analysis to cite primary sources and showing evidence of the research was a plus in understanding common core better. Art almost finished. Overall, a great day.

Today we gained some useful information on free free free stuff. First we found sites for teachers to apply for grant in order to get free stuff such as computers and laptops for their students. Our class discussion was on free trips one particular one was for Washington. This may be something to look into for next year. Our next speaker, Mrs. Bennett and Dr. Green from the Federal Reserve Bank and MSU Economist was very interesting, informative and entertaining. Mrs. Bennett was great with here information on the bank and also relating it to common core research, evidence and technology. Her demonstrations were tired to real world experience which was very nice. Dr. Beriswell video conference with Dr. Chao talking about the Taiwan culture was nice, interesting and entertaining. My art project is coming together hopefully finishing up on Friday. Overall, today was a great, informing, and exciting day looking forward to tomorrow.

Day 11
Today was a open session with sharing ideas of school policies that you would liked changed in your school district. The first one was device policy such as cell phones in the school. Many expressed that their school had BYOD where others were forbidden. The schools with BYOD some had written policies in the handbook, but others didn't. Some of the rules our group came up with was to allow students to bring their devices. Smartphones allowed at the teacher's discretion only. The teacher would also reserve the right to take the phone when not used for educational purpose. All teachers and administrators would enforce the policy. Lastly, parents would need to be educated on the policy as well. Overall, today was a very informative and interesting today. In art today, really getting the hang of what the project entails.

Day 10
Today was a wealth of knowledge. Ms. Kimberely Lane was very interesting, exciting and helpful with her websites and information. I thought I knew a little technology, but she had so much to see today I soon became lost. It's going to take me awhile to digest all the information she gave us. I think the best information today was opening a twitter account. This is something I will use faithful. The session on Prezi will also be something I will use in the classroom. The site on 22 digital skill was very helpful also. I will use the livebinder and screencast-o-matic also in the class. Overall, everything today will be used in my technology class some way or the other.

Day 9
Today we started off with our show and tell portion. This was a opportunity for fellow classmate to share their ideas they find helpful in their class. Larry's show and tell was great having students make a poster cutout about a country or the state of Mississippi. Cindy's show and tell was great also with the cutouts that could be used as a study aid or vocabulary review. Our speaker today from the Highway Safety was an eye opening about drunk driving. He used highway glasses for simulation that helped get the feel of drunk driving. This will be useful to have to come to school to demostrate. Overall, the day was great with information to take back.
Day 8
Today, I guest speaker was Dr. Becky Smith. She was very enlightening about economics and service learning. The powerpoints and videos were interesting and exciting to really understand this subject better. Our next speaker was Dr. Cade Smith and his concentration was on service learning. This was my first time really hearing about service learning. In a way its similar to community service but a little more involved. I thought it was interesting for students to go on field trips for a week to discover the Delta part of the South. Dr. Heiselt also talked on service learning a little more. Dr. Shaffett session on personal finance was very interesting. I didn't know that the extension services covered some many counties and offered so many services. One being reality world for students which our school is doing now. The web conference with James Wilcox was interesting telling us about scams and frauds geared at senior citizens. Overall, today was very interesting and exciting.
